Background: A licensed and ordained minister, Roxanne has worked respectfully and successfully in a variety of settings for the past 22 years among diverse people groups with many different belief systems, as well as those with no particular belief system. She honors the life and faith experience of each individual. It was Roxanne's own excruciating, four-year journey to wellness through the dark wilderness of Major Clinical Depression that led her to research and develop an intentional lifestyle that has kept her depression-free for over a decade.
Since 2008, Roxanne has specialized in training individuals to support their mental, physical, emotional, relational and spiritual wellness by taking good care of their brains. In 2009, Roxanne partnered with Kansas City wellness doctor Michelle Robin, DC and served as ghost writer for the book, Wellness on a Shoestring: Seven Habits for a Healthy Life. In response to ongoing requests, in 2010 Roxanne wrote a book about her personal experience of clinical depression, profound healing and the key lifestyle practices that anyone can use to LIVE WELL TODAY entitled Laughing Again: A Survivor's Guide to Healing Depression.
Education: Roxanne initially entered William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri to pursue a degree in scientific research with a focus on molecular/microbiology. However, a medical and humanitarian service trip to Guatemala became a pivotal turning point in her journey and led her to shift her focus away from laboratory science to a vocation in which she could help others face-to-face. Roxanne studied abroad in Oxford during her junior year, and she was graduated Summa Cum Laude from William Jewell College, with dual majors in Communication and in Religion, receiving significant recognition as one of Jewell's top students.
Roxanne continued her study and was graduated Summa Cum Laude from Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, where she earned a Master of Divinity degree, majoring in Pastoral Care and Counseling. While in seminary, Roxanne studied overseas in Israel and engaged in Clinical Pastoral Education at Health Midwest/Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Today: Roxanne remains in demand as a dynamic, motivational speaker and workshop leader for large and small groups. She provides mental wellness coaching and consulting services for corporate, educational, medical and faith-based institutions.
